is a life worth it

  the cost of a paper
  swords at dawn
we seem to be
shapes of waterfalls
bucking through the wheat fields
against the grain
time trailing off
like exhaust fumes
falling asleep late
again

No frequent feeling
No bouquet of flowers
No Christmas feast
No princess bride
No calm of the storm
No bridge home

ideas are cheap
they rattle through the
head's cavern
sounds of popping corn
thoughts become something to
hold onto
cause from now
till another then
it is not good enough
to just have some
strength
